Read an interesting comment in the thread that said the parallel terminal was just a simple wiring to each side of the wiring to the 120V plugs as shown on the block diagram in the manual (is case for Canadian model 73534i). The writers point was that the adapter was a rip-off as the interface was dead simple.
This made me wonder how Honda does this operation too, so I dug out a manual for an early 1000i (which I also have). Interesting -- same kind of wiring on the block diagram.
Has anyone attempted running a Champion and Honda in parallel mode? While dissimilar models, and the manufacturers would deny it could be done, it looks like it should work as long as the cables plug in right. There appear to be no components that would unique in either generator. (note: I haven't rung-out the wiring with a volt-ohm meter yet).
If this is true, there is an implicit compatibility and I could keep my 1000i in order to use it to boost up the Champion 2000 so that my air conditioner could be used.
Any insights from experienced folks?? I'm really curious now...
