Here is an update from me:
I contacted Champion about the delay on my control board and to see if they would send me a replacement. The rep on the phone was no help and I asked to speak with a manager there. I was passed on to F___ the manager. He let me know that indeed the unit I have has a module with a 150ms delay. I mentioned the module update that SuperGen would do for me and he told me that unless I was to also update to the new Stator Comp (generator windings?) that it really would not make much difference. The new black units apparently have the new module and Stator Comp in it and are much better units I am told. I pushed for them to send me the parts as I could do the work no problem. He offered to send the parts to me but at my cost. This didn't make sense for me as I had paid less for the unit than it was going to cost for me to "upgrade" it. This unit went back on Craigslist and was gone within a few days.
I ended up picking up 2 - 73534i's (black units) with the pairing kit. 1 of these units will load up and run my 14A circular saw no problem. 2 units paired will start and load up my Makita MAC700 2HP compressor on economy. I get a couple flashes of red on the overload lights when the compressor kicks in but never actually overloaded over multiple tests.
I haven't had a chance to test out the Dometic AC on the trailer yet but I can't see having any issues given how it reacts to the Makita compressor. I will install a hard start next year just in case as I figure it will probably be a little nicer on the AC compressor anyways.
Right now I am very happy with the 2 units I have. They are so so so quiet paired up on ECO and will be perfect for us. Sometimes I will only need one to charge the batteries, use the microwave and when it gets hot I can bring the other and pair them up to run the AC. Great value for me and can't wait till next camping season for some dry camping!
