Supposedly (based on comments in this thread), Champion rates their yellow 2000 watt inverter as capable of a "surge" output of 2000 watts for 5 seconds.
Big difference between 30 minutes and 5 seconds.
Curious, when does inrush current become surge current? After 10ms, 100ms, 500ms, 1 second, 1 minute??
The champion was not and is not capable of anything over 1700 watts for more than a split second. And their continuous VA on a bad PF load is in the 1400 VA region. There is no comparison to a Honda. But the price doesn't compare either, right? I'd say the CPE half the generator for half the price.
