Yes, sometimes you can pop a dent back out, but if it is complex you can tinker all day trying to make it look like it was and it just gets worse. Body filler does work on the aluminum siding. Then some white paint and you can get close to not bad. Still see where the tree branch attacked you, but not so obvious, sort of.
In this case, with a complex dent, it was so much easier just to hide it. It is a different attitude when you have an eleven year old trailer that already has a few dings in it, than if you had a new one or were hoping to get a good price for it used.
