All sorts of ways to go here. Part of me wants to just push this AGM to its limits, to see where they lie, cycling it hard and heavy as I can, and recharging it fully and at a high rate, as often as possible.
If I got the T-1275, well the AGM would basically be retired sipping pina coladas and eating bon bons, and I do not think this AGM wants to be a pampered eye rolling princess who practices her 'whatevers and OMG!!!!' with as much attitude as musterable.
Seems like a thick ankled farmgirl workhorse instead who scorns royalty.
A small cheap emergency assist AGM could at least get me started if I get a bit too masochistic in my treatment of this AGM. A small Odyssey AGM would be a bit more insurance with its super high CCA numbers for its size. But then it would be sipping pina coladas too 99.9% of the time too.
I don't know if I'll ever buy a starting or marine flooded battery again.
Part of my T-1275 reluctance certainly is the modifications required so it can actually fit, but more of it is wanting to see just how much hard work this Northstar AGM-27 can perform and for how long when cycled deep, and then recharged properly.
I once had 345AH of total battery capacity, now I have 90AH, and this has proven to be more than enough so far.
The 345 AH was about the warm and fuzzies and some bragging rights, but those 345AH of batteries lives were not long lived either. Mostly from too little a charge rate and improper solar setpoints, but also due to being Wally world quality marine batteries, or Crown marine batteries whose water levels dropped to plate exposure level.
I've not even laid eyes on my NS AGM in 18 months.
