I don't see why it shouldn't work. You need schematics. You may be able to fool the emc. Even if you get cel, nothing bad will happen. It's not going into limp mode for that.

Or you can fool the emc the bat voltage is low. Put a pot on the voltage line going to the emc. The emc may have a battery voltage sense line.
