i am trying to find this thermally conductive epoxy that was posted on this forum about 6 months ago for a hot water heater adjustable thermostat.
I'm the one who attached the thermostat to my hot water tank with epoxy... I used 3M TC-2810.
You can buy TC-2810 from an electronics supply house like digikey.com or newark.com. This stuff is specifically designed to be thermally conductive, and I happened to have a bunch of it In my shop for another project. However I think pretty much any epoxy would do the job as long as the thermostat is in direct contact with the water heater tank.
