Question

The clip to the fin on my norcold frig is very rusty but the frig seems to be working for now.  But I can't believe this is a good situation so can you replace just the rusty clip or do you have to replace more and how much more.  Back a few inches from the clip is a snap together connector for wires to meet and connect.  rich

I just replaced the entire assembly...clip, wire and connector. No tools, took about 30 seconds.I think the entire part was around $20. Just drove into an RV dealership while on the road.

On my Norcold I believe the "Clip" is plastic.IF you can get the thermistor out of the clip then you can replace just the clip, Finding a new one may be a bit of fun but you can do it.

Do as "downtheroad" suggested. Stop at any rv dealership or parts supply house and buy the whole unit. Costs around $20 and takes a couple of minutes to replace.

I don't want to detract from this thread, but maybe the OP or others can enlighten me about my question.
I'm assuming that the thermistor helps the refer cool a bit better(is that correct)? Which direction do you slide it to make the refer cool better(up or down)?
