thermister

The clip to the fin on my norcold frig is very rusty but the frig seems to be working for now. But I can't believe this is a good situation so can you replace just the rusty clip or do you have to replace more and how much more. Back a few inches from the clip is a snap together connector for wires to meet and connect. rich
  • The metal clip is Norcold PN: 61689122 and can be found on an internet search.
  • Thank-you for the answer to my question about the thermistor adjustment. I do have a temperature control panel, so I'll just leave the thermistor at the top of the fins.

Provided your fridge does NOT have an adjustable temp control on upper panel.
If you can adjust temp setting on panel moving the thermister position will have no affect on fridge cooling
  • I don't want to detract from this thread, but maybe the OP or others can enlighten me about my question.
I'm assuming that the thermistor helps the refer cool a bit better(is that correct)? Which direction do you slide it to make the refer cool better(up or down)?
  • Do as "downtheroad" suggested. Stop at any rv dealership or parts supply house and buy the whole unit. Costs around $20 and takes a couple of minutes to replace.

On my Norcold I believe the "Clip" is plastic.

IF you can get the thermistor out of the clip then you can replace just the clip, Finding a new one may be a bit of fun but you can do it.
  • I just replaced the entire assembly...clip, wire and connector. No tools, took about 30 seconds.
I think the entire part was around $20. Just drove into an RV dealership while on the road.
