  • Which is why we need a guinea pig to test the thing and push it to its limits, as all we have otherwise, is assumptions.
  • I ASSume that 480w is with 10a and 48v. You see solar controllers that have an amps limit but they have different watt limits at different voltages. I ASSume this gizmo is 120w at 12v. ?
  • Heck, my Etopxizu 30 amp cheapowatt would do 38 amps, and in the same size packaging. Granted it made a buzzing above 36.2 amps and had no self protections built in, requiring constant coltage pot twiddling, but still.

If I was more flush and did not already have the Meanwell rsp-500-15's 40 amps, I would order and push this thing with a depleted battery to see what it could do.

If it could do 480 watts at 14.7v, I would be seeking to add more heatsinking and ventilation.

I love how they added the potentiometer, and that little connector right under it means that swapping to a higher quality 10 turn pot should be a cakewalk.

So whose flush and in an experimental mood?
  • Will it allow voltage to sag to limit the amps or does it blow a fuse?

Yes DC supplies can be stacked in parallel however you must set the voltage EXACTLY on them and that kind of precision is hard even in an electronics lab.

If it says 10 amps max. Odds are trying to suck 20 is going to prove the truth of one of Murphy's Laws

A 25 dollar Transistor will blow to protect a 25 cent fuse..

Only today, the prices have gone up.

    WILL meaning YES

Equalize up to a series pair of GC 220 golf car batteries or better yet one battery at a time. Group 24 27 29 31 flooded.
  • US$33 for 480W adjustable 0-48V power supply?
But is it limited to 10A at lower voltages as well?

"maximum output current is 10A, so this item will not fit for your device with over 10A current."

Sort of sounds like it's limited to 10A, period.

I just spent a lot more than that for a 500W Meanwell 24-32V
without the readout and nice knob. But it can definitely do 18.6A at its rated 27V.

Maybe the DROK can be stacked in parallel.
