This guy cut the shroud on his A/C---Good idea?

Its a 15 minute video of him cutting the shroud and installing metal lath. Idea being there is better airflow and therefor better cooling. Feel free to fast forward you wont miss any special tips. ...

I saw this and agreed with how he went about it. Did you see the part where he measures the improved air flow? I would do this with both of mine but I have no issues to date...also I think my shrouds are designed differently.
