A lot of old myths from the dark ages persist about oil change.With my 4 cyl. car I will go 7000 or more and even that is probably sooner than needed. I haven't seen much real research but what I saw found that 3000, 5000, 8000; made no difference in engine wear. However a motor home is different in that the motor is always under a significant load so I change my V-10 about the same as you do but I don't have any research on that either. I don't subscribe to the "early doesn't hurt so why not play it safe". Waste of money and oil and just no support for doing it.
