Tires exercised

Due to the crud 19 pandemic we haven't had our RV on the road for 15 months. Well it was 65 degrees here today. I decided to take the rig for a 30 mile trek to exercise the tires, bearings, and magnets. All went well and the planet felt like it was back in its correct orbit.
  • Good for you! I did the same thing a few months ago.

  • We've been exercising our trailer tires during this whole pandemic. We've taken short trips and longer ones as often as we could afford it. The only problem we came across was other campers were thinking like us and some of the campgrounds were crowded. None of the campgrounds required anything Covid from the campers; no masks, no unsocial distancing.

From our Tucson home we ventured to Utah and Colorado in July and August and another trip took us to the Michigan UP in Oct. Many trips were local for camping and RZR riding. We also took a car-only trip to Branson for a week over July 4th, no Covid restrictions there :). In short we've had a great time traveling and getting away from Covid restrictions at home.
  • I need to check the water in my batteries and take her for a drive too. Problem is...I may continue on the road and not turn back homeward!
  • Plenty of camping going on in SC, so get those tires rolling. I have read that it is a good idea to exercise tires as it help keep the rubber and other ingredients in good shape and less cracking.
  • You did the right thing, others may not know about the chemicals in tires that come to the surface to protect them.

Yup, you did the "best practices" route.
