TO BRIGHT- HOW TO DIM

LEDs might help if incans are too bright. Surprised RV makers still use those.

you could take the bulb to a auto parts store and see if they have any available that are not as bright that fit the same socket. or could try these dimmers kind of expensive though
12 Volt DC Dimmer for LED, Halogen, Incandescent but its better to switch to led bulbs lots to choose from and plenty of dimmers available even remote control ones that are cheep can be removed from there case and mounted in the light that's what i did. those led dimmers will not work with regular bulbs though even though some say they can handle 8amps i burnt a couple up trying. some rv supply stores may still sell dimmers that work on regular bulbs but they have always been expensive. this is where i get my 12v led dimmers.12v led dimmers

Have you checked what the DC System Voltage is using a voltmeter?

Could you add a couple soft lights in places? I have several puck lights strategically placed around my clipper. They provide a more subdued lighting than the standard overheads, but I still have the bright overheads when I really need to see. I have a couple pretty led lanterns that make for nice side table lamps - something like that might work and provide extra outdoor lighting when needed. They also are nice if the electrical goes out in the RV.

We're looking for a solution to lights that are blindingly bright too. We have LED lights throughout our 2015 Jayco White Hawk and they are way brighter than the brightest incandescent lights we had in a 5th wheel.

But unlike incand, I don't think we can switch to a bulb with only about 25% of the existing bulbs wattage/luminosity.

why not line the cover with a piece of paper, foil or whatever to block most of the light? Or place a piece of tape over the outside which can then be removed for when you want more light.

For cool LEDs that sounds like a great idea to try! I'll try lining the inside with a piece of paper.

130 lumens should be OK unless you want a very dim nightlight.
Get the warm white. Probably lower prices on ebay direct from China/Taiwan.

You can easily replace most incandescent 12v bulbs with one of lower output. Take a bulb out, get number on base, check on the specs of that bulb, and find another one (same base) with lower wattage and lumens!! Or as others have said, go to led bulbs, but there you will have to research output and find ones that are lower. Cheaper just to go to lower output incandescent bulbs, and they will take less power!!

Wedge base bulbs, 921 is very common in your year trailer:

If you have 921s, you can use 912 or 920 and cut light output by half.

If you don't have wedge base and have bayonet bulbs like 1003, you can do the same. Just look up the specs for the bulb you have!!!

PS: ASCTLC, I opted out of the inside paper lining for fear of burning the paper due to the heat generated by the bulb. Used tail light repair tape on the outside of the lenses but seems to come off easily.
