I was halfway joking. I doubt it's actually possible to melt the board simply from using the unit. It's just old and he had it up really high for I don't know how long so I was considering the possibility it had been damaged by that. As I said it's a really old unit and until about a week ago hadn't been used but a few times in I don't know how many years. To go from 0-60 that fast is usually not good for any old equipment.
