toilet help needed

I replaced my Thetford toilet with a Dometic 310 toilet in my Tahoe toy hauler. The replacement went smooth and easy. My problem is when you flush the toilet and then don't use it for a few minutes it takes about 3 seconds for the water to reach the bowl. Sometimes it takes longer if it sits. I talked to customer service and we went through a few steps. First we hooked it up to the city water connection, still did it. I was sent 2 screws to secure the water valve(some toilets were being sent out without those screws), No result. Then I was sent a new water valve, no result. Dometic is going to send me a replacement toilet(awesome customer service). My problem is I am afraid it is going to do it again but I cannot think of what the problem on the trailer side could be. The old toilet did not do it, I replaced it because of a broken pedal. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks
  • Those 2 screws are NEVER installed by Dometic when built. Those screws are supplied when you replace the water inlet valve and you use them when you replace the valve. ALL those screws do is make sure the new valve does not "pop" loose since the original is a plastic catch type system. I would suspect this water valve is defective or has some type of debris in it. But, Dometic has built thousands of these model toilets and that is a new complaint, that I also have never heard of. They sent a new toilet because I assume they want the old back to test it? Or did they just state to throw the old away? Doug
  • I believe that's how they work. I have had a few in different units and they all act like that, either on city water or the water pump.
  • I have no help ideas if Dometic doesn't either...but...
I'd hook up a temperory water supply to the new unit they send you BEFORE you install it and test it.

Do this test outside your rig in the driveway right after you unpack the replacement.
