Since you have a one off custom frame, I'll bet they just stuck in a tank that fit easily.

My fresh tank has a 40 gallon specification in KZ's brochure, but the tank has 39 gallon imprinted in the plastic. When I questioned that, they said they just round up the figure. Not a big deal, but why not just use the correct figure.
