The toilet valve needs to be changed out. When I took it off the foot lever fell off also. Everything is lined up and tight but when I press the pedal the flapper inside the commode doesn't open...

might have to take it completely off sit it out side on a table and watch the action of how it works.or maybe a U tube could help.
