I concur with with everything that Ron3rd states. I would also have brakes checked right before taking a long trip; (if it has been more than 3-4 months since last inspection). Sometimes the brake linkage and/or magnets have been known to stick or not function, (this can be due to inactivity, moisture that causes components to rust, animals/rodents chewing wires into, etc). On another note, I keep the tires off the ground by using jack stands under each axle, (I place them right close to each wheel). This pays big dividends by keeping load off of tires & preventing stress to tires, (this due to non-movement of loaded tires). I always crawl under my 5th wheel & check the wiring before making a trip. I then will roll each wheel, then have DW apply trailer brakes to ensure that each wheel has brakes.
