Trailer Brake Repair. Adjustment? MOVE PLEASE
I just had my brakes repaired on my 2007 HitchHiker II. They found a broken electrical line, cleaned the brakes, reported that all was well.
On my way home, about 20 miles, I experimented with the controller adjustment. I have an integrated controller on my 2008 Duramax/Allison diesel. Even at "10" the brakes seemed "soft" to me. They were obviously engaging, but using the manual control seemed to be slowing the trailer/pickup very gradually. Certainly would not have been considered an emergency stop. Now I am talking about using the trailer brakes WITHOUT the pickup brakes--just the manual control.
I would have to say that using the normal brake pedal application, I would have considered everything to be normal.
Am I being unduly concerned? Should I take the trailer back in, even though that is a lot of trouble, and the repair shop is the very best in this entire region.
SORRY, THIS GOT IN THE WRONG FORUM. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO MOVE IT. HOPE MODERATOR WILL DO SO.
