Transfering between the inverter and the generator

I got the Progressive Dynamics unit because it was essentially free thanks to my Amazon commissions. I just finished installing it and it is working perfectly.

While doing this job, I discovered that I have enough space below the converter to make a hole in the wall to access the shore power cable compartment! So I can start with that and get on my hands and knees to manually switch from the genset outlet to the inverter one on rainy days. I'm still considering installing a transfer switch, though.
