Transmission Temp. Gauge on a 6.8 L V-10 engine

Hello All, I would like to install a transmission temp. gauge on my 2008 Jayco Greyhawk motorhome. It has a 6.8L V8 engine. This is the only gauge it doesnt have on the dash. Is this gauge necessary...

I'd venture to say it's not necessary, but it's cool to watch as you are making those long climbs when in the mountains.

Another option is to get a ScanGaugeII and add the TFT gauge (Trans Fluid Temp) XGauge. You can add many other options as well.
