Transmission Temp. Gauge on a 6.8 L V-10 engine

Hello All, I would like to install a transmission temp. gauge on my 2008 Jayco Greyhawk motorhome. It has a 6.8L V8 engine. This is the only gauge it doesnt have on the dash. Is this gauge necessary...

Have both but if I had it to do again I would just get the scan gauge II, trans temp. and a whole lot more info. like real water temp. cylinder head temp. just to name a few, and at the end of each day driving a lot of info.
