How can I remove tree sapp from the top of my trailer, the roof is a fabric type rubber,don't want to wreck the fabric, in which I've different types of cleaners and want something safe,i see it on the shelves at camping stores but there must be a cheaper way this sapp is pretty tough, anyone know of anything homemade, Thank you, Ron

I use a little rubbing alcohol and a rag. No problems yet. That's only if I get ambitious. People tell me to leave it be since it basically adds another layer of water protection...in spots at least

I'm in the 'leave it' camp. Potentially do much more harm than good by trying to remove it..(scraping, gouging, chemicals). It's a roof, not the dinette table. It doesn't need to be spotless.

X2 Rubbing Alcohol ! = Isopropyl alcohol

I had it on my roof but didn't want to use strong cleansers.So I just left it. Nobody can see it, it won't hurt anything and the UV will eventually break it down. After about three years it was gone.

When I get sap on the paint on a vehicle, I use GoJo with lanolin hand cleaner in the tub, and a little bit of elbow grease. Clean it off, rinse, and then I rewax the paint in the area affected immediately afterwards.

On a rubber or EDP roof, I'd leave it alone.

One more suggestion; use hand sanitizer. It has alcohol in it and doesn't evaporate so fast. I've had good luck with it.

mayonaise for pine sap. Not miracle whip.

If it is a big lump, Crisco, margarine, butter etc should soften it enough to get the worst off without risking damage to the roof. A good dishwashing liquid such as Dawn(not for automatic dishwashers) will remove the remains of the grease.

Let sun and time take care of the residual.
