Trim strip repair

I am not sure if this is the right forum for "trim strip repair".

I park my trailer and truck side by side in a very narrow driveway. While backing out a month ago, I clipped the front of the trailer with my Truck's front bumper. The metal strip that binds the front and side panels of the trailer was torn loos and the internal plywood, insulation, and caulking was exposed in a 2 foot section.

During the recent rains, I left the damage taped up to keep moisture out and fortunately this worked well.

Yesterday I was able to straighten out the metal trim piece and put it all back together. The biggest problem I faced was determining that the metal trim had been forced over the head of a screw. When pushing the strip back into place, the screw head 'got in the way'. The angle was really bad for removing the screw. I had to use pliers from the side to grab the head and twist to remove it. Once done, it was much easier to push the trim back into position.

I did a little overkill using 6 screws to re-attach the trim. Once that was done, I put a lot of black silicon seal in using my finger tip of course to burnish it into place. It is hard to tell that there was even any damage unless you look really close.

Depending on how you look at it, I cost myself an afternoon, or saved myself repair costs. I'll post a photo tomorrow.
