Couldn’t agree more. Most consumer O-rings are cheap garbage. Waving one in sunlight for a few minutes will cause it to crack or crumble. Break out the calipers on the original part and then look at the Parker-Hannifin O-ring handbook to find an appropriate replacement.
Some places it is worth buying cheap parts. Not O-rings. Good ones are incomparably better than cheap ones.
