I like my TST system but I don't like what I feel is an excessive time delay between when the monitor loses the signal from a sensor, and when the monitor notifies you that the signal has been lost. An hour is a long time to be without contact and not know it.
mine is almost instantenous, love the tst non flow thru
They are not instantaneous. When the sensor loses contact it can take up to an hour or more to notify you of the loss. Don't confuse loss of signal to loss of pressure. If the sensor is in contact with the monitor, then the notice of loss of pressure will be very quick indeed. If the monitor has lost contact with the sensor you won't know about it for quite a long time, during which you could lose tire pressure and not know it.
why would u loose contact? if you loose contact then that tire should be blank right? when i first turn mine on finds all sensors in abt 10 min. need to call TST GREAT service
You could lose contact for several reasons: interference from a radio source of some kind, blockage of the signal, distance too great to reach the monitor.
If the monitor loses contact with the sensor, for any reason, then that tire will be blank and an alarm will sound. But, and a very big but IMO, is that it can take up to an hour or more before the monitor will sound that alarm. The alarm will not sound as soon as the monitor loses contact, only after a predetermined length of time: about an hour. If, at some point during that hour, the sensor regains contact with the monitor the alarm will not sound.
Mine usually finds my sensors pretty quickly, but it can take up to 15-20 minutes. Not a big deal at all IMO. I usually turn mine on fairly early before leaving so it's never been an issue.
