Are you positive BOTH tstats operate 1 furnace? NO furnace will have 2 tstats. Either another one was added and the original left in place or the 2nd tstat may control a roof Vent. The fantastic tstat controlled roof vents, the tstat looks like a furnace tstat. Doug
