Unreliable Dometic Comfort Control System
The Dometic Comfort Remote Control has never been reliable. Has anyone removed their Dometic system and just hung a regular T-stat on the wall instead? What adventure am I in for? Thnx

Its a dometic duo-therm model 59516.531
It uses a four pin phone jack cable from IR receiver to main unit.. not sure if this is my wire set or a data cable?
Just part numbers after that:
IR0101 on the transmitter remote
A-1 Comp. PC0144 on IR receiver unit
