Unusual pinging issue (2005 Ford three valve V10)

Update: I changed the fuel filter and cleaned the MAF. I just drove 700 miles in hot conditions up significant grades with no issues. I wasn't towing my Jeep though so I was 5,000 pounds lighter but I've had the pinging when not towing before as well. Next trip will be quite a bit longer and towing so we'll see.
