US satellite reception for a Canadian in the US.

This may be in the wrong forum, please let me know if it is. I am a Canadian that spends a large amount of time in the US in the winter. Canadian satellites do not work past a few hundred miles ins...

It seems that you could join Escapees and set up a mail address in Texas. Then you should be able to sign up for Dish or DirecTV services for use in the US.
