Because the unit contains a diode, output voltage is lower than input voltage. The problem the op needs to solve is how to get a higher output voltage. So the Trik-l-Start would make the problem worse.

While I use it to charge the chassis batteries from the solar charged house batteries, I don't see why you couldn't reverse the connections to charge the house from the alternator charged chassis.
