is this for NOW in the winter, or are you talking summer weather
700+ watts facing the sun, should do the job with power to spare in the summer, might need 1000w or more for to give you 24hr A/C
5hr *500w (add in recharge loss) = 2500wHrs total recharge value needed for 5hrs of A/C
in june i can get 1880>2000 whrs a day total, from my 505w flat on the roof
and your further south
so 470w should give close too full rating, a good starting point for your sysem
mounting the panels with 3" of clearance from the roof to allow for air circulation
and maybe, run some PVC behind/underneath with water, let the excess panel heat warm the shower/kitchen water and help cool the panels for better efficiency
