I have the batteries. The "grid" is a joke. A half mile of secondary 3-wire circuit. CFE says only a "certified" installer can make the install, the certified installer wants 3.8 times as much per watt, and everything comes to a screeching halt until the neighborhood grid is "updated". Maybe in 2022 or 2096, who knows. When the grid goes down (30-45 hours a month minimum), an intertie just sits there and grins. In the summer, it is common to lose power for 3-4 days. because of storms.
The day, night seasonal variation is minimal. About an hour's sunlight difference between solstices. Sun angle varies about 10 degrees. I will tilt the panels 10 degrees then affix them for 200 km hour wind resistance.
Yeah I know there are loses. The big loss however is a three hundred eighty-eight dollar utility bill that would cost sixty dollars in the states or Canada.
I can keep adding panels. I have no idea of the remaining life in the Rolls batteries. They had .345" positive plates when new. The trick is paying for everything on a Social Insecurity budget and then miracling them 1,445 miles south of Nogales, Sonora. With gasoline slated to cost $3.77 gallon after the first and a hundred forty five dollars in toll road charges each way, pricey hotels, this is going to be a challenge. A hundred and fifty dollar Chinese panel gets taxed four hundred seventy six dollars when passing through Mexican Customs at the border.
