Wow, obviously got some forum members here with some very in-depth electrical knowledge! Appreciate everyone taking time to offer their advice and help. After reading everybody's responses I decided it's just too risky depending on a clamp-on multi-meter to make a go, no-go decision on purchasing the Yamaha EF2400iSHC.
So, I attempted what I previously thought was a very long-shot. I called a few Yamaha dealers to see if any of them would allow me to demo a unit with my RV’s a/c unit. Although they're over a 100 miles away, I did find two dealers who would do a demo. They only asked that I agree to purchase the unit from them if it worked satisfactorily. IMO, that's more than fair. But, I have to admit the real surprise was---their price (with tax) was within $50 of the lowest price I found for the EF2400iSHC online!
