I agree GM did some stupid stuff, so did motorhome builders
Both are off topic
We have a user with a new trailer, asking a direct question
And he was told the danger to the alternator

You even quoted the statement regarding might work and burned alternator

That poster was clearly stating the problem and indicating not to do this
