The refer on my little Jayco SLX is a manual ignition, so turning it off and on again everytime I get gas (about every two hours while on the road) will be a huge pain in the butt. For now, I think an ice chest might the only solution, outside of 400 watts of solar panels.
This TT is going away soon so I am not spending a lot on it. My next one will hopefully be a Outdoor RV 27BHS which is a lot better insulated this this Jayco piece of toothpicks and cardboard. The refer in that will hopefully stay cold during traveling and not get a million degrees inside like this Jayco.
I wonder why changing trailer manufacturers is going to change the way your refrigerator stays cool. Won't the front and back still be exposed to ambient temperatures? Won't it still be enclosed in uninsulated cabinetry? Not a great environment for any refrigerator on a hot day.
