LP’s are actually making a comeback as the sound quality is much better than CD’s or other digital format.
My musician ears don't tell me one is 'better' than the other, but just different. I can more easily hear the individual instruments in digital (important to me) which was a real challenge on vinyl because vinyl tends to be muddy. Perhaps some people don't like that clarity, which can be described as 'sterile' or 'not warm.'
I think it comes down to a matter of personal taste, just like the music itself.
