Back when I was a teen/young adult, I was really into Stereo equip, so I do know Stylus and turntables. I still have two turntables....one, an Audio Technic's Direct drive with a Shure V15 type III cartridge and the other a Pioneer with what I believe is still my Quadraphonic cartridge on that. I could talk stereo stuff for hours but it certainly has changed over the years and I haven't really kept up. Matrix and Direct Four channel was the craze back in the day...of course that didn't last all that long. But Carver, Phrase Linear pre-amps and amps never went out of style along with Bose 901 speakers. ( I know, not all are into Direct Reflecting speakers but my 3 pair of vintage ones have always sounded good to me).
I'm still always playing around with Stereo....but the latest gadgets sound decent for a lot less cost.
