Gets even better. Remove hardware from a new terminal that connects directly to a battery. Dip terminal in molten 100% lead. Tap off excess. Tou now have a terminal that will be 100% acid proof. Quick Terminal used to offer 100% lead but had to pull the line because of lead fumes when soldering. I use a CPAP mask and spare machine. Tin only slows down acid corrosion. Lead stops it cold. Lead cannot be used for terminal to wire soldering because of the much higher melt temp needed. It screws up the wire insulation.
