The fan must be 12V so that it cools with no incoming AC and inverter turned off. But OP has I believe a hybird so it could be different.
Wondering when the problem occurred: before shutdown or after starting again. Or during shutdown when the unit still draws some power unless you have a full battery disconnect. It would be interesting to know if the Magnum had a problem or the gen caused the problem.
For those that aren't aware the Magnums have a very high idle draw that cannot be turned off. My MS 2012 is about 0.3A resulting in about 200AH for a month of storage. This is one of Magnums "cost design trade offs".
