One cannot compare the water system at home with the water system in an RV, as was done in the link above. The system in a home has the option of distributing the pressure back through the source (or a pressure tank in the rural setting). Where as in an RV this relief at source is blocked by check valves. So, in the RV, it is necessary to have the air pocket in the top of the tank.
Not sure if water meters will allow for limiting the pressure in a stick house.
