Water line/tank question.

I keep my 2004 Coachman Cascade TT parked on my property located in upstate NY a distance from where I live. I have no services.
Last weekend I decided to de-winterize the water system as the weather was great. Little did I know a polar vortex is coming this Monday and Tuesday bringing 3-5 inches of snow and single digit temps.
When I left last weekend, I opened all the faucets and let the pump get the water out of the lines. I did not blow out the lines nor empty my belly tank.
The question is should I blow out the lines and/or empty the tank.
Thanks to all.
Steve

  • Well after thinking about it, I did do a full winterization. Good thing I did. There were two days in a row with temps in the low 20's while the evening temps dropped to single digits!
    Thanks again for your comments

  • Watching that Polar Vortex on the evening news just now. Weather is a crazy mess these days. I hope to see everyone getting behind doing what we can to minimize the global warming that's causing all this. I've seen two 500 years floods in my little town - don't want to see anymore.
  • Thanks to all for your comments. I'm going there tomorrow morning to drain the belly tank and water heater. Then I will blow all the lines out with my compressor. I won't putting in antifreeze except in the sink drains and toilet.
    Have a nice weekend people!
  • At minimum open low point drains, open all faucets (sink/showers/toilet) and suction side of water pump. Drain water heater.
  • Better to be safe than sorry. I use an air compressor to blow the water out of my lines and a siphon hose to get as much water out of the water heater as possible. Never had any problems doing it that way.

I'm also in the habit of draining and siphoning the water heater every time between uses.
