Is there a benefit to this kind of regulator compared to the basic in- line one, other than you can adjust the psi? What I am interested in is more volume at 45psi.
Valterra Adjustable
In the description..."has a full-flow design". Does it really allow more water through at 45psi?
I have never used that specific regulator but have a few friends who give it good reviews. I trust them
I have used
Standard cylinderical Regulators These are brass or plastic cylinders with hose fittings Male and Female, one on each end. Used them in my Trailer days (no shower) and they work,, but very restrictive of flow.
Used the "High-Flow" or "high Capacity" Version of the above, these heave either Wings or a brightly colored plastic grip on the female end.
Slightly better, but no significant improvement.. I give the regular a 1 and these a 2 on the scale of 10
Next is a Sur-Flow in-linek this is IDENTICAL to the built in regulators on many RV's (note you really want the regulator at the park end of the hose, the 120+ PSI here where I"m typing will blow your hose apart, or can and has). I give it a 9, very slight restriction at full load (Shower, Do not notice it anywhere else)
I have both a Watts (that needs a rebulid kit) and a ZURIN that is much newer. I hook it up. set it to 50 PSI static, open the shower valve and .. Needle does not even wiggle. Full flow These are 3/4" units (Cheaper than the 1/2 inch version and easier to adapt).
The one you linked to is supposed to be as good.. But as I said I've never used it.
