I too don't understand what it is you need to "tap" to get the pump running. My pump is in a "wet compartment" where I'd have to go outside and open the door to get at my pump.
I can turn my pump on or off at 3 different locations (the kitchen sink, the bathroom sink or inside the wet compartment). All three switches go through a multi-switch box that permits this to work.
Are you tapping on a relay or on the pump itself?
