Installing a section of water hose on each side of the pump will help. This is basically the same as the kit you mentioned. Also make sure the pump is isolated from the floor on a piece of rubber, and that the pipes do not touch the walls by putting a piece of foam rubber between the pump and wall. The accumulator tank will not make the pump quieter but will lessen the frequency of operation.
