Good morning everyone,
I really don't think Bob was out to just "make a buck". He truly was there to help. He had a full plate for the day and he graciously squeezed me in.
First off he did not have the water pump in stock. He told me to try and find one at another place locally. I found an RV dealer in the same town that had one so I went over to buy it. So he made no money there.
He spend over 2 hours testing the water pump and the water accumulator and installing the water pump and only charge me for one hour of labor, totally unexpected. I also needed a replacement for a broken piston on one of my bay doors. He replaced it and did not even charge me for it, also very nice and unexpected.
As for the water pump. Before I went over to Bob the water pump would not turn on at all. While there and he was diagnosing the water pump first it would not turn on then it would turn on in short intervals until it would not turn on again. I had no doubt that the water pump was bad.
Although there are probably more unethical techs that I would like to think in the world of RVing and auto mechanics I truly feel this buy was totally on the level and would not hesitate to use him again or recommend him.
One other thing. I drove over to him without our tow car and when I was about to get into my motorhome to go and get the water pump he runs up to me and says "don't take the coach here are the keys to my pickup". A very nice thing he did not need to do.
So yes, I am a very happy camper. I hate to throw money at this thing as much as anyone, however as we all know things break.
