Water pump-very low pressure-need help

I am having a water pressure problem when using my water pump. I do have a full fresh water tank. The problem is low water pressure when using any faucet using the water pump. The problem just started after I sanitized the water tanks. Here is what I may have done wrong. I let the tank drain empty and then turned on the water pump for a minute or two by mistake.

I am wondering if I have introduced air into the system. If this is the problem could you help me with how to purge the air? If not could I have done something to the water pump running it dry for a short time?

I have an accumulator tank in the system and the air pressure is up to specs. I have a screen before the water pump and it looks like there are bubbles in this.

Thank you in advance for your help,

Stuart

  • Bubbles in suction side strainer for water pump.........water pump is sucking air and therefore not fully priming

You need to find/fix air leak on suction side of pump
Possibly cracked fitting on pump, strainer, loose hose clamp, 'winterizing' valve. Etc.

And NO running pump 'dry' will not hurt pump. They area diaphragm pump and are designed to run dry w/o harm
  • Hi Bud,

Good thought. Yes, I do have a screen, it is clean but there are some bubbles in it and is why I am wondering if I introduced air into the system and if there is a way to purge the air.

  • Does your pump inlet have a screen type filter?
    Debris clogged the screen.
