If you are in BC, then it can't possibly be the water. ;) Drinking water quality in Canada is generally quite high according to Health Canada. I would say it's not the water, especially if it happens at more than one CG.
No point in testing the water if so far from home and you don't frequent the area. Have you tried removing the filter to eliminate that as a cause? What are the filter specs and do you change it periodically? Some filters don't last long.
What does the water look like directly out of the CG faucet? Is there any difference if the water sits inside the piping system for a while compared to drawing it through continuously?

If it's not filter related, it would seem like potential causes *could* be biological or chemical in origin and a water test is needed.
