Water tank check valve
Hi all, I stopped getting hot water and I checked the check valve and it's so corroded I can't get it off. I sprayed some WD-40 on it but I'm afraid if I apply too much pressure I'm going to break...

WD40 is a water-displacer (WD) with surface corrosion inhibitors. It's not really a penetrating oil. My preference is PB Blaster. Spray on and let it soak. Periodically tap with a hammer to break things free. Might take a day or two and several applications if it is really bad.
