Water tank question

But it makes total sens, the water coming from the city line is already pressurized so my pump is not needed, logically I could install it anywhere, as long as it's tapped on the cold water line right?

But let say I'm leaving a camp site and I'm going boodocking, how will I fill my tank with the city water line before leaving? through the gravity fill hatch?

By the way no I can't move the tank at all, there's 3 inches on that side and it's where I plan on putting my 1 litre drinking water bottles :-/

Most pumps have the check valve built in. Yes, the city water inlet can be plumbed anywhere in the cold water line after the pump. Yes, the common procedure is to fill the tank with a hose through the gravity fill.

I think you will have to customize your wheel well with a hammer to get an elbow into the outside port. You really need that port if you are going to install the sight tube. If you decide you can see the water level well enough through the tank wall, you can plumb your pump outlet and your drain with tees into the inside port and just leave the outside port plugged.

If you are confident that you will never have to leave the van outside in freezing weather, then you would not have to winterize. Where you are, I would think that's a mighty big if.
